Park Street Hotel

Park Street hotel is a beautiful Sri Lankan ancestral home where the intriguing lifestyle of its past owners is blended successfully with contemporary chic living. Conceived by Taru, one of Sri Lankas foremost fashion and lifestyle designers, this boutique hotel occupies a 250-year-old colonial bungalow and an adjoining warehouse spread over two acres. The bungalow was once the home of Sheik Salehbhoy Moosajee, whose family have been prominent business and social personalities on the island since the 19th century. Sheik Mosajee’s second wife, Begum Zarina Moosajee, was a flamboyant artist, fashion and social icon of the time. The original bungalow consists of a main lounge area and the luxurious Begam and Saleh suites. Elaborate antiques include ornate chandeliers, Dutch period furniture, and several of Begum’s portraits. Across the swimming pool and the dining area is the old warehouse. It has undergone an amazing transformation and now houses ten luxurious contemporary suites. The third in Tarus unique collection of small hotels, the Park Street Hotel is a triumph and a reflection of her creativity and attention to detail. The high level of personalised service and facilities are ideal for discerning business and leisure travellers alike.
