Set within Colombo Fort – a three-mile long rampart originally built in the sixteenth century by the Portuguese and then further developed by the Dutch and the British, the modern Hilton building stands between the government Treasury - housed in a spectacular 17th century Colonial building in front and the modern twin towers of Colombo’s World Trade Centre on the side.
