Auraliya is a large six-bedroomed luxury beach villa on a beautiful and safe swimming beach, ringed by a protective coral reef ideal for families with children.  This newly built luxury beach villa is situated just south of Thalpe, a fine stretch of coastline a few kilometres south of Galle.  Auraliya is cleverly designed in the form of a courtyard with the central focus on the swimming pool, lounging and formal dining areas. The floors and walls are light with polished white terrazzo and high ceilings are used extensively. The result is an airy, cool, and fresh feel. There is a large garden with frangipani trees and coconut palms adding to the spacious feel.  Overlooking the sea there is a small ambalama-style bar, ideal for sundowners.

Accommodation
Auraliya has four double bedrooms and two twin rooms. All rooms are airconditioned and have four-posted beds with fitted mosquito nets.  The en suite bathrooms have hot and cold water and have modern fittings.  The master bedroom has an enormous terrazzo bathtub for relaxing soaks. The two main bedrooms have louvered windows that look out of the Indian Ocean. The other rooms look in towards the swimming pool.

Facilities
Other facilities include an airconditioned sitting room, an open-air dining pavilion overlooking the swimming pool, a fully fitted kitchen, and a chill-out pavilion with a cushion corner for lazy afternoons. Western dishes and Sri Lankan rice and curry are served here.  The villa is well staffed and is led by Sunny, who is helpful and attentive.

Excursions
There are a number of beach bars and restaurants in the area. Visit Galle Fort, a UNESCO-protected World Heritage site. Day trips can be organized to Sinharaja Rainforest and Yala National Park.
