This is not all, The Rock Chalet also has an interesting history behind it. About 75 years ago a room, situated outside the original building which was completely concealed by an overgrown thicket of luscious vegetation provided a safe ‘hide-out’ to an Englishman by the name of Braise Girdle who was wanted by the law enforcing authority in Ceylon, to be deported to his country for subversive activity engineered against the State.

This very same room, which is now given a new look and strict privacy is one of the rooms that is very much in demand because of its location away from it all. Access to this room is over a bridge now and you will simply be enchanted with its location and picturesque surroundings.
